Matcha
Matcha is a powdered green tea, finely ground from steamed Camillia Sinensis tea leaves which were shaded in the final weeks of growth to preserve a rich green leaf that's high in nutrients and antioxidants.
Matcha's origins lie in the foundation of Zen Buddhism in 12th Century Japan, when monks and ruling-classes discovered that the health benefits and meditative qualities of tea could be maximized if they consumed the ground whole leaves in a frothy mixture made with warm water. As well as natural health benefits, matcha is also known for its energizing and calming properties, which has recently made it popular throughout the world. The very best leaves are reserved for making the premium ceremonial grades. Lesser grades have a stronger taste and are better suited to mixing into latte's and smoothies, or in baking.
Unlike the many matcha drop-shippers out there, we have strong relationships with our tea farmers, and we carefully select the appropriate grades for each likely usage, keeping the fair price in mind, and packing and shipping your orders directly to you from our base in Japan. If you were wondering where can I buy matcha, and are confused by all the different grades and origins, please take a look at our range below which we have carefully selected with uniqueness, quality and value in mind.
