Boosting Water for Tea, Part One

Years ago I was given the book The Hidden Messages in Water by Masaru Emoto, a Japanese scientist who made a baffling discovery. His core idea is that water has a molecular structure which is effected by human consciousness. In other words, thoughts and patterns from nature directed toward water can change the structure of it to make it healthier so it can hydrate at the cellular level.

At the time of reading the book, I certainly understood the importance of using the best water for tea from a taste point of view, but living in a polluted city didn’t present an opportunity to go spring hunting very easily.

In this two-part post, I'm going to show you how to make the healthiest water you have ever had...plus how this can elevate your tea experience to new heights. Make sure to read to the end of the post for the latest news on this water journey.

So where does one go for the best quality water? You would think that the bottle of spring water from your local grocers would do the trick…but think again!

Getting water in plastic bottles isn’t caring to Mother Earth but that is another conversation. I want to know, and I’m sure you do too, if bottled water is the best choice, especially for bringing out the flavor in your tea. Should we just tell the water "I love you" like Emoto did…?

Here are some facts to consider:

Branded water is marketed to seem higher quality and comes from a pristine spring or mountain stream but this is very rare indeed. So where does all of this water come from then?  Did you know that most bottled water comes from similar sources as your municipal water supply, meaning that there is likely nothing special about bottled water other than its branding? Aquafina now states on their label that their water comes from public sources.

While some brands put their water through additional filtration processes, many do not. This is rather shocking because it is often the same tap water from the municipal water source. Even more shocking is that the EPA strongly regulates water quality that comes into our homes but there is no regulation for bottled water.

Water bottles contain a sizable amount of Bisphenol A (BPA) which is a substance known as an endocrine disruptor, meaning it bears a toxic effect on a person’s ability to reproduce. Further, plastic softeners known as phthalates are also used and are toxic to the consumer. Older bottles and those exposed to heat are the worst culprits. So using water from plastic bottles means that you might risk ingesting some toxic chemicals.

PET bottles, made from polyethylene terephthalate, are lightweight but strong plastic bottles, most of which are nearly impossible to hold and not accidentally squeeze water out of the top when you grab it! Reports funded by the American Chemistry Council (ACC), which is funded by oil and coal companies (plastic is made from oil, right?), says PET bottles are safe…you do the math!

Have you heard the term micro-plastic? These are tiny pieces of plastic that can be found in a variety of items including bottled water and a lot of health and beauty products to give exfoliation properties. Not only can bottled water absorb some of the chemicals in the bottle, but recent studies suggest that the plastic itself can be present in the water. In fact, a World Health Organization study found that in 93% of popular bottled water brands tested, the water contained plastic fibers. That can’t be good!!

If you are trying to save the planet by refilling your plastic water bottle at one of those dispensers at your local grocery store or even at airports, this too has consequences. You might think you have cleaned the bottle but the soft plastic creates a perfect breeding ground for bacteria as well as risking additional micro-plastics and chemicals to enter the water.

If you think all of this is a little over the top, consider this: the San Fransisco Airport has now banned plastic bottled water from being sold by its retailers. Instead the retailers have to sell water sold in metal bottles and the airport has installed 100 water refill stations throughout the terminals. This eliminates the 4 million water bottles sold each year.

After all of this talk about banning plastic, I'd like to you meet an important advocate on Instagram who showed me a thing or two about why plastic might be good in certain situations. Meet @my.tea.daily or Camille owner of the account. In one powerful post, she socked me straight in the face with an angle no one considers in this "ban the plastic" conversation. I urge you to visit @my.tea.daily to illuminate yourself on the plastic impact this has on the disabled. It's eye-opening. I'm ashamed of myself for not considering this.

Next, I’d like you to go even deeper, or maybe more FAR OUT! I will be asking you to open and stretch your minds, to elevate your consciousness to even wider possibilities! Are you ready to make healthy water?!

What is full-spectrum structured water?

PART TWO

In my latest quest for good water while traveling through Ecuador (and becoming desperate!) I recalled a conversation I had with David Wolfe. At the Longevity Conference, he told a group of us to swing our water to activate it. Did he mean to wind it up like a javelin?? The health guru’s justification was to create a vortex in the water and therefore activate it with life force. I did this for about 3 days until my arm nearly fell off.

That recollection lead me online where I discovered an incredibly sophisticated yet simple solution for making full-spectrum structured water as close to nature as you can get...all in just 5 minutes!

In a nutshell, full-spectrum structured water is water that has amplified frequency bands which are close to newly birthed water straight from the earth’s core. Did you know that water is actually birthed? It starts deep in the core where a liquid crystalline structure is created by circulating around the magnetic fields of the earth. When it is ready and loaded up with balanced minerals and life force by movement through vortices, it bubbles up to the surface where it is kissed with sunlight and nature’s vibrations or frequencies. This is full-spectrum structured water. This water is peak-performance, creative water oozing with life force to sustain all living things. Sadly the water on the surface of our earth today has been depleted in nutrients and life force because it has been recycled so many times and is too weak to have any energetic integrity.

The earth has a frequency of 7.8 Hz: a frequency band that harmonizes with life. In other words, nature’s blessed water as the Universe intended. But how do you get water from Mother Earth when no source is near you?

By restructuring it using crystals, minerals, earthenware, glass and other elements to “tune” water to this frequency.

Ideal drinking water has the energy of life and this goes a long way to providing flavor for your tea. Back to David Wolfe…the technique he revealed to us, using movement, is a way of creating vortices in the water and when you do this, it creates energy in the water. So he was right but only part way there. When you create a vortex in the water with movement, it attracts to it, more energy. But then you need to allow the water to remain still so the molecules can be stabilized and develop a hydrogen-bonded network. Nerdy-ness aside, this gives water the smooth creamy texture of full-spectrum living water.

Another way to structure your water is with crystals. According to Dr. Rustum Roy in his 2005 literature review on the structure of water, crystals transfer the structural information or pattern from the surface of the crystal to the water or to any liquid. He coined the term epitaxy and in laymen’s language, this is how water or liquid can mimic a pattern and how patterns in crystals bring structure to water.

It’s easy to do by simply placing a crystal in or next to water in a glass or clay vessel. Quartz, (especially enhydro quartz: remember it as hydro) is super efficient in structuring water because it contains the remnant of ancient water inside the crystal yielding a strong pattern or template to imprint onto the water. You can see this in tiny air bubbles the quartz contain - these were formed when the water contracted inside the crystal so long ago. The enhydro crystal has water trapped inside, that you can see with the naked eye moving around inside it. These are quite rare, and come at a cost to match. Certainly other crystals are good too. I suggest reading Dancing with Water - the New Science of Water by MJ Pangman and Melanie Evans to explore more options including sound vibrations, Orgonite plates, and the tensor ring to name a few options for structuring your water.

When I was researching bottled water, I came across a fascinating company in Slovenia that manufactures water-structuring bottles as well as a special tea cup. The Dr. Masaru Emoto Lab in Japan (reference Part One, Hidden Messages in Water, Masaru Emoto) tested the FLASKA bottles from Slovenia and confirmed not only that they change the water into full-spectrum structured water but that the bottles hold the frequency for up to four years, when kept away from the microwave and other harsh electromagnetic fields.

So how does the FLASKA bottle work?!

Using TPS technology (technology of programming silicon), the handmade crystal bottles and tea cups are programmed with vibratory information garnered from nature which is imprinted into the glass. When water comes into contact with the glass programmed with this technology, the information is transferred into the water and the structure of the water changes. This process starts the moment the water touches the glass but is best left for 5 minutes to achieve the full effect.

I must admit to being slightly skeptical that I could tell the difference, so I did a test. I used three bottles, the VODAN FLASKA 1 liter jug; a Hario Filter-in glass cold brew bottle; and my Spiritually Bold crystal bottle. I filled each with water from my refrigerator filtering system and waited for 10 minutes just to be sure...they say it only needs 5 minutes.

Well, what do you know?! The water in the FLASKA tasted sweeter than all the rest and leagues above straight water out of the fridge filter! It seemed to have more body than the other two glass containers. Honestly, I could not believe it!

Then I tested it using the FLASKA tea cup which even changes the structure using hot water. The tea was vibrant and full of personality. I’m now sold on this and any water that comes into my house, including Sedona spring water, my closest natural spring, goes into the FLASKA, just in case. My tea leaves and me have never been happier!

To tempt fate, I tried the same test with plain tap water, and yet again, it was sweet with no chemical hint whatsoever. I won’t get into the habit of using tap water, but at least I know it’s OK for traveling when that’s the only water I have to use. Not only does the FLASKA system structure the water but it has been proven to neutralizes contaminants so if you have to make tea and tap water is all you have, consider it acceptable.

The inventor of FLASKA, Maks Vrečko, was a strawberry farmer that did an experiment: he watered half of his crops with regular water and the other with structured water. He knew the technology for structured water had been in existence for more than 80 years thanks to Austrian Viktor Schauberger, the pioneer of it. At first harvest, Maks’ results were astounding! The structured-watered berries yielded firmer fruit with a longer shelf-life and the crop had 18% more fruit! Over time, the plants became more robust with less disease. After years of research into how to get the technology into glass, FLASKA was finally born.

Because water is the main ingredient for tea, using the best you can find or “make” will be a game changer! Just for the record, I have no affiliation to FLASKA, except being an enthusiastic user. You can visit their site to learn more: flaska-us.com

***NEWS FLASH***

I've now been drinking FLASKA water for 4 weeks and the result is astounding!! My skin is much more hydrated, facial fine lines have diminished and the most striking thing is that I no longer have cotton mouth when I wake up! I've never been without it. That means my body is SUPER HYDRATED!!
